Background
The Know Your Customer (KYC) process is a set of procedures and measures implemented by financial institutions and businesses to verify the identity of their customers. It involves collecting relevant information, such as identification documents and personal details, to assess and monitor potential risks related to money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes. KYC ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and helps maintain the integrity and security of financial transactions
My role
In the context of this project, it was imperative not only to fulfill the customary responsibilities associated with the UX designer role but also to actively engage in dialogues concerning business processes with Business Analysts and operational experts. Furthermore, it was essential to establish synergy with the development team to guarantee alignment between technical execution, business prerequisites, and user preferences.
Challenge
The intricacy of the business process underpinning the digital flow demanded heightened scrutiny, given its significant impact on user experience. This complexity extended to the management of documents and the system's responsiveness to user input. To mitigate any undue complexities or redundancies in the user journey, it was imperative to delve deeply into matters concerning legal processes, compliance, and GDPR.
